The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max 26 have been announced by Apple during their September 2024 Keynote livestream. The series features larger displays, innovative pro camera features, and Apple Intelligence.
Similar to its predecessors, the iPhone Pro models are made of Titanium alloy. This makes the devices durable yet lightweight. The alloy is made of aluminum and fused with titanium on the outside.
The iPhone 16 Pro sports a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both have power efficient OLED panels that have refresh rates peaking at 120Hz. The bezels are also notably thinner in comparison to their predecessors.
The line is powered by Apple’s newest A18 Pro processor. The chip has a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
For optics, users will get a 48-megapixel fusion camera for its main shooter. This is paired with an upgraded 48-megapixel ultrawide and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with up to 5x optical zoom.
The main camera system now supports Dolby Vision-supported 4K video recording at up to 120fps. Plus, the phones can take Spatial photos and videos as well.
Returning features include the Dynamic Island, the Action Button, Crash Detection, and compatibility with MagSafe cases, wireless chargers, etc.
New features include the new Camera Control button, which leverages gestures for faster access to photo and video tools. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will run on iOS 18 out of the box. The devices also Apple Intelligence, which we’ve already covered in a separate article 26.
The iPhone 16 Pro starts with a storage base of 128GB for USD 999 (~PHP 56K). The iPhone 16 Pro Max, however, starts at 256GB priced at USD 1,199 (~PHP 67K). Color options include Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, Black Titanium, and White Titanium.
We don’t have the details for availability or release date in the Philippines yet, but stay tuned. It’s likely that the launch might follow the same date as last year. Readers should keep an eye out on September 22.
We’ll be sure to update the article once more information reaches us. Until then, feel free to check out our other article on the price list for the iPhone 16 Series 90 here.
