Area 120 launches Tangi, a social video sharing app

A small team from Area 120, Google’s lab for experimental projects, have created Tangi – a social video sharing app.

Unlike other social video sharing platforms, Tangi helps people learn how to do new things with quick DIY videos. Users can learn new skills such as cooking, painting, styling, and more under 60 seconds. The name Tangi is derived from TeAch aNd GIve, and tangible, which suits their platform’s content.

The team has already been working with creators of this niche content to help inspire others to join the platform. Viewers may also share a re-creation of the things they created through the “Try It” feature to grow the community between creators and fans. According to Google, the most recreated video on the platform is how to make guacamole in the avocado shell.

You can download Tangi on the Apple App Store, or go to the official site to find creative inspiration, and learn new skills.
