ASUS showcases glasses-free 3D laptop, latest ROG offerings at CES tour

In an exclusive Consumer Electronics Show (CES) tour held today with select members of the media, ASUS brought over a handful of its latest laptop offerings that they unveiled at this year’s CES 2023.

Headlining the showcase was ASUS’ ProArt Studiobook 16, which features what ASUS claims is the world’s first glasses-free 3D OLED screen made possible by ASUS Spatial Vision.

The ProArt sports a 16-inch OLED display with a 3.2K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It also has the top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-13980HZ CPU and a GeForce RTX 470 GPU.

The ProArt’s 3D display technology works through the use of two cameras that track the user’s eyes and adjusts the image to optimize for the 3D effect.

Unfortunately, the 3D effect is not easily captured with our 2D cameras but here are a few reference photos of the 3D display in action to give you an idea nonetheless.

For its Republic of Gamers (ROG) sub-brand, ASUS showcased its 2023 ROG Strix SCAR 16/18 as well.

Of note, the 2023 SCAR features ROG’s Nebula HDR standard, which requires the display to have either a 4K resolution 120+ Hz refresh rate combo; a QHD 120+ Hz; an FHD 240+ Hz display, or more.

ASUS says its goal with this “Nebula” standard is to highlight to customers the top-quality displays it provides on its laptops, similar to how Apple markets its screens with its Retina Display branding.

Other ROG laptops were also featured during the showcase, such as the 2023 ROG FLOW, ZEPHYRUS, and TUF laptops.

As expected, most of the new ROG laptops come with the latest high-end Intel i9 or  Ryzen 9 CPUs and the upper to top-most range of the RTX 4000 series of GPUs.
