Canon EOS R3 full-frame mirrorless camera now official

Canon has unveiled its latest high-end mirrorless camera, the Canon EOS R3.

The EOS R3 is a full-frame mirrorless camera based on the concept of high speed, sensitivity, and reliability. It is equipped with Canon’s 36 x 24mm full-frame backlit CMOS sensor that provides high-speed readout, it also features a DIGIC X image processor for high-speed image processing that covers continuous shooting of up to 30 frames-per-second with AF/AE tracking.

Aside from its Dual Pixel CMOF AF Technology, the camera uses an algorithm that supports deep learning technology that enables improved head, eye, and torso detection for human subjects. Moreover, the camera is the brand’s first digital camera to feature Eye Control AF functionality. Shooting still images and looking through the viewfinder will allow the AF-Frame to adjust according to the detected movement of the user’s eye.

Canon mentioned that the Canon EOS R3 is created with weather resistances and design close to that of the EOS-1 camera series. Additionally, it features a 3.2-inch Clear View LCD, a rechargeable LP-E19 battery, Bluetooth 5.0 support and a port for HDMI, external microphone, headphone socket and a USB C connector.

The Canon EOS R3 (body) is priced at EUR 5,879.99 and is available on the official Canon website.
