Apart from a set of new cameras (EOS M50, PowerShot G1 X Mark III, EOS 3000D, and EOS 1500D), Canon also introduced a new camera Flash module for the Philippine market. Meet the Speedlite 470EX-AI, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) equipped camera flash.
As the name suggests, the Speedlite 470EX-AI is equipped with Artificial Intelligence. The module comes with what Canon calls as AI-Bounce Function, where the flash accessory automatically calculates the distance flash to the subject along with the walls or ceiling. This allows the accessory to determine the optimal angle for light bouncing, which it automatically adjusts to. Other than that, it has AI.B Full Auto and Semi-Auto modes, AF Assist Beam Emission in lowlight, a Flash exposure adjustment of ±3 stops in 1/3 or 1/2 step increments, and a Zoom Flash head range of 24-105mm.
