CICC names influencers allegedly involved in illegal online gambling promotion

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center has submitted 15 social media personalities to the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group for possible case build-up after observing their alleged continued promotion of unlicensed online gambling websites. The list includes creators with audiences ranging from one million to more than nine million followers, reflecting the scale of their reach.

Authorities emphasized that charges, if filed, may fall under the Cybercrime Prevention Act, the Revised Penal Code’s provisions on estafa, and the law prescribing stricter penalties for illegal gambling. The CICC said further investigation may determine whether a larger coordinated network exists behind the promotions.

  4. Whamos (Kim Whamos Cruz) – A well-known vlogger and livestream personality recognized for humorous content, pranks, and family-centered features. His page routinely garners high real-time engagement during livestreams, making him one of the most visible creators on the list. (Note: CICC notes his page appears to have been taken down.)
  5. Toni Fowler (Tonimari BautoFowler) – A widely followed vlogger who produces reality-style content with her family and team, often trending on social media. Her videos usually revolve around daily routines, relationship updates, and long-form vlogs.

  15. MotoDick – A motovlogger who shares motorcycle-related content, riding videos, gear reviews, and travel logs shot on the road. His channel appeals to motoring enthusiasts and followers interested in road safety and motorcycle culture.

Digital Pinoys said it is turning over new software to the CICC that will make identifying illegal gambling links easier across social media platforms. The CICC added that this shift from detection to active enforcement is part of a coordinated effort with PAGCOR, PCSO, and the PNP to curb unlicensed online gambling operations.
