CICC reports 93% drop in online gambling links in the Philippines

Listen to article

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) reported a 93.61% drop in detected online gambling links in the Philippines during the third quarter of 2025. The data came from the latest Whoscall Scam Report by Gogolook, the developer of the Whoscall app.

According to the report, adult gambling URLs fell from 4,308 in Q2 to just 275 in Q3. The CICC attributed the decline to stronger government monitoring, site takedown efforts, and ongoing awareness campaigns against illegal gambling.

The agency said illegal online gambling contributes to financial crimes, data theft, and money laundering. It added that each takedown helps curb digital exploitation and protect Filipino families.

The CICC also noted that users have become more vigilant, showing that awareness efforts are effective. The agency plans to continue partnering with the private sector and civil society to sustain the decline in illegal gambling links.
