Listen to article

We have two more companies that are joining the third telco race – Converge ICT Solutions Inc. and the Villar-owned Streamtech Systems Techonologies.

According to Inquirer.net, Converge ICT paid the PHP 1-million fee to acquire the bid documents on October 23, 2018, while Streamtech got its documents on October 8, 2018. Reports also say that Converge is expected to partner with Korea’s KT Corp. No word yet if Streamtech has selected a foreign partner.

Last month, the DICT has released the seven potential bidders for the country’s New Major Player (NMP) which includes LCS Group of Companies with TierOne Communications, Udenna Corporation, Telenor Group, Now Telecom, PT&T Corporation, China Telecom, and a still undisclosed bidder.

The DICT is expected to identify the provisional NMP on November 7, 2018.
