Facebook introduces social VR app Facebook Horizon

Facebook and Oculus have teamed up to create a Facebook Horizon, a multiplayer virtual reality world for the Oculus Quest and Rift platforms.

Facebook Horizon VR platform that allows users to socialize with friends and others by building their own environments, games, or explore worlds created by others. Users can create their own avatars and transport themselves between various public spaces with the use of Telepods. As its a social app, individuals will also be able to play games and watch movies and other media with their friends.

With the introduction of Facebook Horizon, it has also been announced that Facebook Spaces and Oculus Rooms will be shut down by October 25.

Facebook Horizon will also be launching an open beta in early 2020, with sign-ups now ongoing. Check out the introduction trailer below:
