Google Gemini 2.0 Advanced arrives on iOS, Android

Listen to article

Google Gemini Advanced subscribers now have access to Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced inside the Gemini app on both Android and iOS.

While Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental has been out to all users since last month, the new 2.0 Experimental Advanced version was previously limited to the desktop and mobile web.

The new model (Gemini-Exp-1206) promises “significantly improved performance” for tasks like coding, math, reasoning, and instruction-following. However, it lacks features like real-time information access and file uploads, which are available on other Gemini models.

Nonetheless, it excels in complex coding challenges, mathematical problem solving, and generating detailed, multi-step instructions for tasks like creating a business plan.

To access the model, simply tap the drop down at the top of the screen. Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced joins other models like 1.5 Flash, 1.5 Pro, and 2.0 Flash Experimental.

Additionally, a Google One AI Premium subscription is required for Gemini Advanced, priced at PHP 1,100 per month.

There’s no clear timeline yet on when it will come out of experimental phase. But it is expected to become “Gemini 2.0 Pro” or some other naming scheme on top of Gemini 2.0 Flash.
