Google Keep to add GenAI feature ‘Help me draw’

Listen to article

Google Keep, the search giant’s note-taking app, is set to receive a significant upgrade through generative AI (GenAI). Google is reportedly developing a new feature, dubbed as “Help me draw,” that leverages GenAI to transform simple sketches into ‘artwork’.

Folks at Android Authority dug into code of Google Keep version 5.24.462.04.90 and found a “text to sketch” feature in development.

It works similar to Samsung’s Galaxy AI, the Drawing Assist in particular where the tool will analyze handwritten notes and automatically convert rough sketches into vector art, colored pencil drawings, or ink illustrations.

Users will be able to select a desired art style and let the AI interpret their sketches, even if they’re not perfectly drawn.

Although the core functionality is in place, Google is still fine-tuning the AI integration. As a result, the feature is currently unable to generate completed artwork.
