Grab says that their review of the trip’s audio protect (in-ride recording feature), the driver’s profile, and performance history showed no conclusive evidence to support allegations made or indicate malicious intent.
The company also added that they have reached out to the passenger’s family and driver-partner separately to share their findings. The initial claim by the passenger resulted in the suspension of the driver from work.
Following the results of the investigation, the driver’s account has been reactivated. In addition, he’s set to be compensated for earnings lost during his suspension period.

Grab notes that it takes all concerns and allegations with utmost seriousness. The company also added that incidents like this remind us of the responsibility we have to ensure safety, build trust, and create a respectful environment for all our users.
Grab will continuously improve their safety features and reporting mechanisms, working closely with stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of safety, respect, and accountability.
