H1Z1, a well-known Battle Royale title with the distinct Auto Royal Mode, is now heading towards a new path. Starting March 8 at 10 AM PT (2 am, Friday in Philippine time) the game will now be free to play. Not only that, Daybreak Game Company, the creators of the game, is also revving up to finalize the first season of the H1Z1 Pro League.
Just a little history check, H1Z1 started as a zombie apocalypse sandbox survival MMORPG, which is what most gamers know it for. Then, later on, Daybreak decided to split the title into two separate projects — H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill. The first title is the original Zombie Apocalypse MMORPG while the second one became a battle royale game.
Come October of last year, Just survive dropped the H1Z1 name and King of the Kill simply became known as H1Z1. Alright with that out of the way let’s check out the details of this change in format.
Along with the announcement of going free to play, the H1Z1 Pro League has also confirmed the 15 esports team that will be participating in the first season in Las Vegas. Players who also purchased the game beforehand will be getting an appreciation pack with the following items:
To cap it all off, Daybreak is adding in Bronze, Silver, and Limited Edition Gold battle royal packs during the Free to Play launch.
