The HMD Skyline has been unveiled as the brand’s most powerful phone to date. It features a design reminiscent of the Nokia N9 with its own other additions.
The phone sports a 6.5-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate peaking at 144Hz. Powering it is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
It also offers its users a microSD card slot that can handle up to 512GB of extra space.
For cameras, it has a triple-rear setup headlined by a 108-megapixel main shooter with OIS. Other sensors include a 50-megapixel telephoto with up to 4x zoom and a 13-megapixel ultrawide.
At the front, it has a 50-megapixel camera with autofocus situated in a punch hole. In addition, the Skyline’s cameras offer AI Capture Fusion for enhancing details with shots taken.
Further, the phone features Gen 2 repairability. This enables users to replace a cracked screen or damaged battery in under 10 minutes. Even the back cover can be removed with ease through a single screw.
This feature also lets users deal with bent charging ports with iFixit kits that supply spare parts. Next, the phone packs a 4,600mAh battery that supports 33W wired fast charging and 15W magnetic Qi2 wireless charging.
It will run on Android 14, secured for two software updates and three years of security patches. Other features include a customizable button on the side for quick access to apps and the like. It also has Detox Mode, made for limiting notifications and access to social networks.
The HMD Skyline is slated to be priced at USD 499 (~PHP 29K), but is unlikely to include its adapter. Presently, HMD offers the 33W brick for GBP 30 (~2.2K) on their website.
