HTC has officially unveiled its newest compact VR headset, the HTC Vive Flow.
The Vive Flow VR glasses sport dual displays with a resolution of 3.2k combined (2x 2.1-inch LCD 1600 x 1600 per eye). It supports graphics with a wide field of view up to 100° and a 75Hz refresh rate. In addition, the VR headset is lightweight at 189g.
Moreover, it has stereo speakers with spatial audio support and dual microphones with echo and noise cancellation. It also has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage onboard. In addition, the VR headset also comes equipped with an active cooling system that vents heat out of the eye chamber. Other features include Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, and USB Type-C port.
It allows your smartphone to function as a VR controller to navigate and manipulate with the same intuitive gestures as you would with conventional VR devices. It also enables the casting of your smartphone apps onto a screen in VR using Miracast.
Furthermore, the Vive Flow also has adjustable diopter lenses on each side of the headset enabling users to see clearly without needing corrective lenses.
The HTC Vive Flow is priced at USD 499, and it will be available for pre-order at the official Vive website starting October 31. Pre-orders will also receive a soft carrying case and free VR content.
