Huawei and vivo sign global patent cross-licensing agreement

Huawei has also signed a global patent cross-licensing agreement with vivo.

This agreement covers cellular Standard Essential Patents, inclusive of 5G technology.

Alan Fan, Head of Huawei’s IP Department noted that the agreement reflects each company’s mutual respect for the value of each other’s patents.

He continued saying that the agreement demonstrates collaboration in the industry. With collective investments in fundamental research, both parties are committed to standardizing and sharing the fruits of innovation.

He concluded by expressing that providing people with better products and services worldwide is what the companies are working towards.
