LG Electronics (LG) has just announced its new 2021 LG TONE Free FP series earbuds. The lineup comes with an enhanced in-ear fit, Meridian-tuned sound, active noise cancellation, and UVnano charging case offered in two of the three models launched.
The latest lineup includes the LG Tone Free FP9, FP8, and FP5.
LG collaborated with a leading design technology lab to analyze hundreds of subjects’ ears, resulting in what they call Arc Design with an earbud stem of 4.4 millimeters shorter than on previous models to create what LG says is the “perfect balance and fit for an active lifestyle.” The FP series are all IPX4 rated, which protects the earbuds from sweat or light rain.
The lineup introduces Headphone Spatial Processing by Meridian Audio which gives the listener a sound originating from all directions. 3D Sound Stage is also a new enhancement that adds to the lifelike audio experience that the series offers. New drivers and diaphragms featuring silicone edging allow for more flexibility and movement as well as more powerful bass without compromising clarity or detail.
Each earbud comes with three microphones for a clearer call experience. The all-new Whispering Mode allows for call privacy and clarity by using the right earbud as a dedicated microphone by holding it close to the user’s mouth. The earbuds also feature active noise canceling on two of the three models, eliminating low-frequency sounds that can’t be completely blocked passively.
In addition, LG has introduced the industry’s only auto-cleaning UVnano charging case to keep the listener’s ear tips clean and reduce the chance of inner ear infections. This, according to LG, reduces bacteria on the speaker mesh by 99.9% in just five minutes when charging wired or wirelessly. They also feature medical-grade hypoallergenic ear gels to reduce the risk of skin irritations in the ear canal.
LG’s newest TWS earbuds also allow easy compatibility by using the charging case as a wireless dongle. By plugging the case into a smartphone, gaming console, or any other USB-C to AUX cable, users can easily pair any device with the FP series.
You can also pair the earbuds with the TONE free app to access additional customizations for your earbuds, from Ambient Sound mode, touch control customization, and Find My Earbuds to help locate your earbuds when lost or misplaced.
The new LG TONE Free FP series will be available starting this month in key markets with colors such as Charcoal Black, Pearl White, with the FP8 and FP9 also offered in Haze Gold.
