Filipina actress and singer Nadine Lustre has released her song “Wait For Me” as an audio Non-Fungible Token (NFT) in enter.audio, an NFT marketplace for artists.
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a way of proving that a digital item is the only one of its kind in existence and therefore cannot be copied or reproduced without the owner’s knowledge and consent. It’s like a certificate of ownership of a digital item.
In Nadine Lustre’s case, she created a 2:57 song and created an NFT for it. She will also earn every time the NFT is sold in the marketplace as royalty (10%) is also built-in. It’s a new way for artists to earn passive income for their art.
