Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Announced for Mid-Range Phones

Qualcomm has just released the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, this new soc will bring significant improvements and upgrades to mid-range smartphones.

First in the list, this new chip will features a Kryo CPU with 4 performance cores up to 2.4GHz and 4 efficiency cores at 1.8GHz, giving a 10% boost in CPU performance over its predecessor.

Next, the Adreno GPU gets an upgrade also, providing 30% better graphics performance. This could be great for smoother gaming and better HDR content.

The New Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 also enhances their AI capabilities with over 20% more efficiency, which supports features like AI-based noise cancellation and activity tracking through the Qualcomm Sensing Hub.

For the camera, this chip now supports up to 200 MP photo capture and 4K HDR video at 30 FPS. Added AI De-Noising feature for clearer and better low-light photos.

In terms of Connectivity options it will include 5G support for both mmWave and sub-6 GHz bands, as well as Wi-Fi 6E, allowing peak speeds up to 2.9 Gbps.

Audio gets a boost too, with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite, which includes aptX Voice and aptX Lossless for improved sound quality.

It is built on a 4nm process, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 aims to bring solid performance and efficiency to mid-range devices. With these specs, mid-range phones are set to become more capable and versatile once this chip rolls out in future devices.
