A Chinese laptop maker has ‘cooked’ a workstation laptop equipped with 64-core AMD EPYC server CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, and liquid cooling solution built-in.
The laptop comes in two variants, boasts either the Zen 3-powered AMD EPYC 7713 or the Zen 4-based AMD EPYC 9554. These CPUs are typically found in high-end servers.
It features a unique split-liquid cooling system with integrated water pumps and radiators. This innovative approach replaces traditional heat pipes and fans, ensuring efficient heat dissipation even under the heaviest workloads.
However, such power comes at a cost. The laptop’s dimensions (420mm x 325mm x 46mm) are significantly larger than conventional laptops, reflecting its workstation-focused design.
It boasts a 17.3-inch 2.5K 240Hz display (upgradable to 4K 120Hz) and a dedicated 3.5-inch monitor for system information.
While the practicality for everyday users might be debatable, this laptop caters to professionals who demand desktop-level performance on the go.
Its portability, compared to full-fledged workstations, makes it an attractive option for engineers, data scientists, and content creators as well.
No word yet on its pricing. Though a report claims that the laptop is scheduled for exclusive release on Taobao this December 19.
