The Nintendo Switch is getting its own, brand new version of iconic game Super Smash Bros., Nintendo announced today. The company sneakily gave us a preview of the upcoming game at the end of their Nintendo Direct presentation, only revealing it at the very end when we all thought it was done.
The teaser indicates that Smash Bros. for the Switch is going to be released this year, with no exact date given. It starts by showing us the Inklings from Splatoon, and ends with silhouettes of the rest of the usual Smash Bros. cast, notably Mario and Link.
Super Smash Bros. has been a staple for Nintendo consoles ever since the Nintendo 64. With the Switch’s modular design and ability to be played anywhere, it was truly only a matter of time before Smash Bros. arrived.
