The TEAMGROUP P250Q-M80 M.2 SSD, a high-security storage drive designed to permanently erase sensitive data on demand is now official. This device was revealed as the BC award winner from COMPUTEX last June.

The SSD features a patented circuit that targets the Flash IC directly to wipe data at the hardware level. TEAMGROUP claims the process continues even during power loss. A one-click button and LED indicators allow users to activate the feature quickly.

Available in 256GB to 2TB capacities, the P250Q uses 3D TLC NAND and supports PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe 1.4. It offers read speeds of up to 7,000MB/s and write speeds up to 5,500MB/s. S.M.A.R.T. monitoring is also supported for reliability.

While clearly aimed at industrial and military use, the P250Q’s practicality for general consumers remains limited. Similar products have seen low adoption outside of tightly controlled environments.

This is a developing story, so we have yet to uncover details on the pricing or local release of the P250Q-M80 M.2 SSD.
