TikTok reaches 1 billion users

The short-form video platform— TikTok has achieved more than 1 billion users globally.

Launched in September 2016, TikTok hit the internet by storm as people shared their creativity through various dance challenges, lip-syncs, and such.

Now, the company has shared its milestone of achieving over 1 billion monthly active users around the world.

“More than 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month to be entertained as they learn, laugh, or discover something new. We’re honored to be a home for our immensely diverse community of families, small businesses, and creators who transform into our favorite stars,” said the TikTok Team in a blog post.

The platform also noted that TikTok had become a part of life for people globally because of the creativity and authenticity of their creators. TikTok’s Chief Operating Officer Vanessa Pappas also expressed appreciation for their growing global community. Watch it below.

The United States, Europe, Brazil, and Southeast Asia are the biggest markets for the popular short-video app, the company said, in a report by Reuters.
