UnionBank app now accepts Western Union remittances

Union Bank of the Philippines teams up with Western Union, PERA HUB for a seamless and reliable way to receive Western Union remittances in real-time through their UnionBank Online app.

According to Union Bank, they aim to address activities like shopping for groceries, doing bank transactions, and sending and receiving remittances that have been hampered due to COVID-19, giving the option for families to claim remittances instantly from the safety of their own homes. Here is a step by step guide:

1. Open the UnionBank App and go to “Send/Receive.”

2. Tap “Other Partners ” and select “Western Union.”

3. Input amount, the MTCN received from the sender and other requested information.

4. Review and check if all details are correct then press “Submit.”

UnionBank will reward existing UnionBank Online users with a PHP 50 Shopee voucher for every referral that signs up for a UnionBank account via the app, and uses it to receive an international remittance of at least PHP 500 via Western Union. The referred user will also get a PHP 50 voucher. UnionBank users may refer as many new customers as they want to collect more vouchers.

Additionally, existing UnionBank Online users who claim a Western Union international remittance of at least PHP 500 via the app for the first time will also be rewarded with a PHP 50 Shopee voucher.

The promo will run until September 10, 2021, and the Shopee vouchers will be credited to the customer’s respective voucher wallets on the UnionBank app once the promo period is complete.
