TikTok owner ByteDance silently launches Whee, which is their own version of a photo-sharing media platform similar to Instagram.

Whee is seen as a platform for sharing photos with your close friends. Sounds familiar, but I digress. According to their app description on Google 25 Play, Whee is used to “capture and share real-life photos that only your friends see, allowing you to be your most authentic self”.

The app listing 92 shows messaging with friends, a built-in camera app, and engaging with posts via likes and comments. Friend requests and an archive feature is also present in the newly-launched app.
The app is currently available for iOS and Android users, standing at #53 in the social networking category for the former. Meanwhile in the Play Store, 10,000+ Android devices already have it downloaded at the time of writing.
