Xbox Game Pass gets huge price hike in the Philippines

Listen to article

Reports from Technobaboy and Unbox have confirmed Xbox Game Pass price hikes in the Philippines. The previous monthly fee of PHP 175 has gone up to PHP 320.

This is the second pricing change the platform has applied in two years. The new change is an 83 percent increase from its original rate following its initial price of PHP 119.

The change follows Xbox’s global restructuring of their Game Pass offerings, which have earned scrutiny online. It has reached the point that the domain to have subscriptions cancelled was overloaded last night.

For reference, PC Game Pass gives access to over 100 games. This includes day-one releases from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard.

The platform was introduced in the Philippines in April 2022, steadily gaining a subscriber base. Readers should get an email prior to the price changes taking effect by November.

That said, the new price will apply to both new and existing subscribers. There hasn’t been any announcement of additional benefits tied to the increase, but we’ll be updating readers should details arrive.
