Xiaomi outs Mi Notebook Pro GTX edition and updated Mi Gaming Laptop

Xiaomi just launched the successor to the Mi Notebook Pro and an updated Mi Gaming laptop in China. Meet the Mi Notebook Pro GTX Edition or also known as the Mi Notebook Pro 2 and the Intel 8th gen equipped Mi Gaming laptop. Both laptops come with two configurations that sport either an 8th Gen i7 or i5.

First up let’s look at the updated Mi Gaming laptop. The device comes equipped with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display, up to Intel’s 8th generation i7-H processor, a Nvidia GTX 1060 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD storage. It’s basically just an Intel 8th generation refresh of the previously launched Mi Gaming laptop.

The more intriguing device here is the Mi Notebook Pro GTX edition. It’s the Mi Notebook Pro, only this time it sports Nvidia’s GTX 1050 Max-Q GPU. As for the rest of the specs, we get a 15.6-inch FHD display, either Intel’s 8th generation i7-8550U or i5-8350U processor, 8 or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage. Due to the added power from the discrete GPU, Xiaomi equipped the laptop with a better cooling system.

  • 16GB RAM (i7 variant)
  • 8GB RAM (i5 variant)
  • 256GB SSD

The Xiaomi Mi Gaming notebook comes in four variants with the following price tags:

  • i7-8750H with Nvidia GTX 1060 and 16GB RAM — CNY 8,999 (~Php 69,938)
  • i5-8300H with Nvidia GTX 1060 and 8GB RAM — CNY 7,999 (~Php 62,220)
  • i7-8750H with Nvidia GTX 1050Ti and 8GB RAM — CNY 7,499 (~Php 58,331)
  • i5-8300H with Nvidia GTX 1050Ti and 8GB RAM — CNY 6,699 (~Php 52,063)

The Mi Notebook Pro GTX edition, on the other hand, is priced at CNY 6,299 (~Php 48,954) for the i5 variant and CNY 7,599 (~Php 59,058) for the i7 one. All models will be available in China starting August 16.
