YouTube Community Notes are in the works, as the platform takes notes from X on how to deal with misinformation. Users will be able to fact-check posts to help others stay away from fake news on social media.

YouTube has begun issuing invitations for users to try the new feature themselves. Similar to X, users can leave notes for netizens who might encounter misleading information on their videos.
Once a note is left, other users may opt to vote on how accurate the note is. Notes that are approved will appear under a video’s title with timestamps.
The company is also encouraging users to add sources with their notes that can help users verify corrections made. The new feature aims to address AI-produced deepfakes as well as inaccurate stories and such on their platform.
This is a solution that gives platform users more power over hiring moderators. Notably, YouTube doesn’t have a specific name for the upcoming feature just yet.
Plus, isn’t it funny when a post gets flagged by users to out someone spreading misleading information? What do you guys think about YouTube Community Notes?
