YouTube Premium Lite launched in the Philippines

Listen to article

YouTube Premium Lite has been launched in the Philippines as an alternative, affordable way to access the platform’s streaming services. The news follows its reveal from our previous article 10. Priced at just PHP 109, most videos are now ad-free and less invasive.

The new subscription tier is made for viewers who are looking to enjoy less ads on the platform. It works across laptops, smartphones, and TVs with its own caveats.

This includes commercials still possibly appearing on music content, shorts, or during browsing for content. In addition, this subscription tier won’t include video download options or background play.

This tier follows YouTube’s preceding subscription options with YouTube Music and YouTube Premium. However, the standard Premium plan costs PHP 189 per month with benefits including ad-free viewing, background play, and downloads.

Again, YouTube Premium Lite is now available in the Philippines for PHP 109 per month. For those curious, this won’t affect creators and partners as they still get revenue from subscriptions and views.
