11.6″ Dell Inspiron M102z goes AMD Fusion for cheap

Dell is now out with its own version of the AMD Fusion notebook with the 11.6-inch Inspiron M102z that comes pre-loaded with Ubuntu 10 (instead of the usual FreeDOS others offer).

The Inspiron M102z competes with the likes of the Samsung Series 3 and the Sony Vaio Y in the E-450 space.

Dell Inspiron M102z specs:
11.6″ display @ 1366×768 pixels
AMD E-450 1.65GHz dual-core
AMD Radeon HD 6320
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB SATA HDD
1.3MP webcam
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
LAN port
3 x USB 2.0 ports
HDMI port
7-in-1 card reader
6-cell battery
Ubuntu 10.04

Suggested retail price is Php21,900 which is relatively affordable for an E450-type laptop. The use of Ubuntu as the default OS instead of Windows 7 is the likely culprit for this price-point.

  1. Wow, mura na nga to for an e-350. Plus it comes with Ubuntu pre-installed so you’re sure walang driver problems with the OS :))

  2. ayos parang 8500gt or 9400 gt ang video card power ah

  3. oh mura na ha… kesa mag intel atom ka na netbook. mas ok na to! :)

  4. Sana nasa 15k-20k na lang price niya this coming December. Hehehe

  5. heyyy that’s not bad at all.. might get one for mom since she’s getting bored with the Asus Eee i gave her 3 yrs ago! LOL

  6. Love Ubuntu Linux, but why 10.04… that is two generations behind now.

    • My thoughts exactly. I wonder what’s Dell thinking?

    • Because Ubuntu 10.04 is LTS – Long-term support (LTS) releases are supported for three years on the desktop. Perfect for organisations that need more stability for larger deployments.

  7. Faceoff! Dell M102z E450 vs. Sony VaioY E450 vs. HP DM1z E450 vs. Asus 1215B E450 vs. Samsung Series3 E450. What would you prefer?

  8. Dell stinks, Abe. I’d rather pay the premium for a thinkpad–much better performance.

  9. Good buy, just install your own copy of Windows 7. ;)

  10. This has 3 USB Ports, 1 of them with power share. Sana man lang ginawang USB 3.0 yung isang port para mag differ sa ibang manufacturer, they have almost all the same specs

    • Asus Eee 1215B has a USB 3.0 slot :)

  11. The surprising thing about this one is the 4gb memory :)

  12. Last time na tinignan ko ito sa Dell sa Mega Mall nasa 19,800php cash price.. excited nko bumili in a couple of weeks! :D

  13. Maganda ba quality in terms of durability ang dell m102z? and what about yung battery performace, of ba? it claims up to 9hours usage. I hope me nakagamit na nitong netbook whom can shed us info about this netbook.. thanks..
