Acer isn’t waiting for Asus (Eee Box) and the rest of the gang to gain grounds in the mini PC market so it’s launching its own version this early.
Is there any more manufacturers can squeeze out of the mini PC market? Unless they’re targeting the LAN party-goers, you can do much with the already competitive desktop PC market. Even Apple hasn’t gone far with the Mac Minis (I even have this feeling Steve Jobs is almost ignoring the minis).
Anyway, back to the Acer Aspire X1200, see specs and shots below:
AMD Dual Core CPU (Athlon X2 5000)
4GB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8200
max 500GB SATA HDD
HDMI port
2 PCIe slots
9 USB ports
FireWire
DVD SuperMulti-drive
14-in-1 card reader.
According to Acer, prices will start at $450 and they say this would look good on their 22″ LCD monitors (up to $750).
My brother suggested I may like this web site. He was once entirely right. This publish actually made my day. You can not imagine simply how a lot time I had spent for this information! Thanks!
The IBM x3200 is a good machine :-)
If Acer Singapore was any indication, it’s quite probable that here in the Philippines we already have this model, too.

Lesser options at only 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, and Vista Basic, but it makes up for it with a discrete graphics option (8400 GS) and a price tag of only P16,900.
4gb ram??? ganda to ah
I’m sold on this one. A new rig for the upcoming Diablo III, :D
Then again, at $450, what could I get if I were to build a PC with this amount.
Any good advice anyone? :P
I also read on gizmodo that there are variants of this desktop that has the Athlon X2 4850e processor. It’s the most energy-efficient dual core processor out there, 2.5 Ghz at only 45 watt power consumption.
Here’s hoping Acer gets that here too. :3
this is cool
do want!
sana magkaroon agad sa pc corner
is the $450 price tag for the specs that you laid out? and are these mini PCs easily upgradeable like normal PCs?
good for my mini room but no money to buy one..
I was reading about this earlier at engadget and I said I’ll buy my little brother this one with the screen once acers ships this out here in the Philippines. I really like the pricing and the specs…
