ASUS has unveiled yesterday their new ZenBook laptops and one of them is a convertible type called the ZenBook Flip S. It packs a sleek design along with a 4K UHD NanoEdge display. Check out our first impressions below.
The design of the ASUS ZenBook Flip S is closer to the ZenBook 3 Deluxe mostly due to its premium build, keyboard layout and choice of color and accents. ASUS claims that its the world’s thinnest convertible laptop at 10.9mm thin.
As mentioned, it’s a convertible notebook meaning it can transform into different modes thanks to its 360-degree ErgoLift hinge that also lifts and tilts the keyboard into the perfect typing position when the display is opened beyond 135-degrees. ASUS says that it can withstand more than 20,000 open/close cycles.
Attached to that hinge is a 13.3-inch display that comes in Full HD and 4K resolutions and mounted with Corning Gorilla Glass. Like the VivoBook S and its powerful cousin, the ZenBook Pro, it features the NanoEdge display with an 80% screen-to-body ratio, and 100% sRGB color range.
Below the display is the full-size backlit keyboard with 1.00mm travel as well as a spacious trackpad that supports Smart gestures. Located on the right-hand side are the power button, volume rocker, and fingerprint scanner for the One-touch access with Windows Hello.
Then on the left-hand side are the USB-C port which supports external displays, power delivery and data transfer; mic/headphone combo port, and the exhaust vent. Located underneath are Harman/Kardon-powered speakers with Smart Amp.
Powering the device is a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U/Core i5-7200U processor, Intel HD Graphics 620, up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, up to 1TB PCIe 3.0 x 4 SSD, and Windows 10.
