Most Powerful Laptops Money Can Buy Today

In the world we live in today, we have a whole range of powerful laptops to choose from that it could leave you scratching your head when deciding which laptop to get for heavy workloads. Especially when laptops just seem to be getting faster and more powerful than ever before, this purchase would be most certainly an investment. But nonetheless, here’s a list of some of the most powerful laptops available today. Let’s get to it!

MacBook Pro 16

Kicking off the list is Apple’s own Macbook Pros. The latest version of its most powerful MacBook, the Macbook Pro 16 inch, now comes with its very own Apple Silicon chipset. With you being able to configure it with its highest-end processors, the M1 Max. The most powerful version comes with a 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. You can even have it equipped with 64 GB of RAM and 8 TB of storage, which is just absurd. What makes the Macbook Pro 16 with M1 Max super impressive is how efficient it is, you are getting the performance that rivals top-end CPUs and GPUs out there but the Macbook Pro 16 uses a lot less power to give the same performance. This translates to lower temperatures, lower fan noise, and longer-lasting battery life. But as with anything with Apple products, be ready to spend a pretty penny for it. The Macbook Pro 16 can be found for between Php 146, 990 to Php 206,990.

Razer Blade 15/17

Razer’s Blade series has been known to deliver some of the most premium, yet powerful gaming laptops. It is no different from the latest Razer Blade 15 and 17. Both can be equipped with the latest 12th gen Core i9 processors by Intel and unlike previous models of the Blade, this year you can get the top of the line graphics card with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The displays of the Razer Blade are also one to behold. You can either get an FHD or QHD display with refresh rates up to 360 Hz. Although Razer’s products aren’t for everyone considering their price, if you’re looking for a slim and sleek gaming laptop that can still push out a great performance and great thermals, then Razer never fails to deliver on that note. The Razer Blade 15 can be had for as low as Php 105,900 for the base model and Php193,900 for the advanced model. The Razer Blade Pro 17 comes in at around Php 138,900 to Php 210,990.

Asus Zephyrus G15 / Zephyrus M16

Okay, I’m cheating on this one cause they’re 2 different laptops but are more similar than you’d think. So why not? The more the merrier. The Asus Zephyrus G15 and M16 both have similar bodies with that gorgeous back panel lit with LEDs but inside, they have their differences.

The Asus Zephyrus G15 has been well known as one of the best gaming and all-around laptops you can get for your money. Under the hood, the Zephyrus G15 can be equipped with up to AMD’s Ryzen 9 processors and NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 GPU. The display is certainly no slouch with WQHD displays and refresh rates up to 165 Hz. Memory-wise, you can either opt for 16 or 32 GB out of the box but certain models will allow you to upgrade up to 48GB. The G15 is certainly marketed and created for gamers, especially with the use of AMD’s processors. You can find the Zephyrus G15 for Php 99,995 with an RTX 3050 Ti and Php 179,995 for the top-of-the-line model with the RTX 3080.

The Asus Zephyrus M16 meanwhile comes with two main differences that could sway you to get it rather than its cousin, the G15. Firstly, it has a 16 inch 16:10 aspect ratio display rather than the 16:9 15.6 inch display found on the G15. This would prove to help in productivity as it wouldn’t feel as cramped due to the fact you get extra display vertically. Secondly, the processors that come with the M16 are from Intel and for certain workloads, the i9-12900H can be a beast as it can even compete with desktop-grade processors. The Zephyrus M16 price can range from Php 129,995 for the RTX 3060 and up to Php 159,995 for the RTX 3070.

So which of these two should you get? Well, that depends on your needs but if you choose either the efficiency of the G15 with AMD or the high performance of the M16 with Intel, you wouldn’t go wrong in choosing any of them.

Dell XPS 17

Although this list is full of the most powerful laptops that cater to both gamers and creative professionals. The Dell XPS 17 is a black horse on this list. Cause it’s not as powerful as the bigger, chunkier gaming laptops on this list, why do people hold it in such high regard? It’s because the Dell XPS 17 is powerful in its own way. It’s meant to be the sleek everyday laptop that can pack a punch. Not to mention it comes with one of the most gorgeous displays found on any laptop with its infinity edge display. The latest iteration comes with Intel’s 12th gen processors and NVIDIA’s RTX 3060. So if you’re looking for premium, elegant design and still have enough power to do some video editing, programming, or maybe even some gaming. Then the Dell XPS 17 is surely one to consider. But the premium build of the Dell XPS 17 comes at a price of approximately Php 199,999.

Lenovo Legion 5/5i Pro

Lenovo’s Legion 5 and 5i Pro are both fan favorites and are highly regarded as one of the best gaming laptops today. The Legion 5 lineup is known to have one of the best cooling solutions in a gaming laptop out there. Both are fairly similar with the exception of their processors. The Legion 5 Pro is powered by AMD and the Legion 5i Pro is powered by Intel. Both can be equipped with NVIDIA’s RTX 3070 Ti, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. So which one is better? The 5 Pro or 5i Pro? That certainly would be a great topic in itself and is up for debate. But just know that whichever of these two you get, you will surely get excellent performance from a reputable line of laptops. The Legion 5 Pro can be had for around Php 87,995 to Php 114,995 while Legion 5i Pro at Php 124,995 at the top end.

HP Omen 16

HP’s Omen lineup over the past years has always been questionable due to the fact that it was very much powerful but lacked the necessary cooling. But with the HP Omen 16, they nailed it out of the park with its cooling solution that it barely shows any drop in performance under sustained load. The one available here in the Philippines can come with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, NVIDIA RTX 3070, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB storage. It also comes with a sweet display for those who love to game with a 16.1-inch QHD panel running at 165 Hz. Furthermore, the Ryzen 7 5800H that comes in the Omen 16 is so well cooled that many have tested and stated that it can practically be on par with AMD’s higher-end Ryzen 9. Not to mention that it also comes with a great keyboard with the arrow keys on a dedicated side. The HP Omen 16 is the most affordable of the bunch, well when I say affordable, it begins at Php 79,999 and can be had with the RTX 3070 for Php 91,995.

Alienware X17

Nothing screams “powerful laptop” as an Alienware does. With Alienware’s unique design and futuristic looks, one could tell that it certainly does have some powerful components. And it’s no different with the Alienware X17. To give you an idea of how powerful the X17 is, it has 4 cooling fans inside. This together with a special thermal compound, helps the X17 stay cool when under heavy load which in turn has made the X17 the best performing gaming laptop Alienware has ever made. The X17 can be equipped with either 11th gen Intel’s Core i7 or i9 and up to NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 running at 165W. It can also be had with up to 32 GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. The Alienware X17 with its unique design comes at a premium where you’ll be spending at least Php 140,990 and up to over Php 246,990 for the model with the highest specs.

Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE

By the looks of the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. I’m sure anyone can tell that it’s one beast of a machine. With not just one screen but a secondary display found above the keyboard, the Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. Packing in the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, it can pretty much compete with even desktop processors. Not to mention that it also comes with NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 GPU at 135W. The benefit of having the second screen that tilts up is not just for ergonomics but for airflow as well, this means that the laptop is cooled extremely well. Because of this, the Zephyrus Duo 15 SE has been noted to barely throttle under heavy load. The secondary display can certainly be useful as you can display different apps, programs, or even extend the screen. This seems really useful if you’re used to having an external display or even when streaming. And I’m sure anybody would welcome some extra screen real estate. The Zephyrus Duo 15 SE comes in at a range of Php 199,995 to Php 249,995.

MSI GE76 Raider

They say with great power, comes great cooling. The MSI GE76 is surely one laptop that could rival even desktop PCs. With Intel’s i9 12900HK, NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 Ti, and DDR5 memory. The 12900HK equipped is known to deliver absurd performance. It beats out even its last generation, AMD’s laptop chips, and even Apple’s M1 Max in Cinebench R23. Its performance is at par with most desktop processors. But delivering such high performance means that it draws a lot of power and so MSI has crafted a new phase-change liquid metal pad to help in their cooling solution. If you want this beast of a laptop, then just be sure that you save up for it as it will set you back an astounding Php 272,999 at the top end.

Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED

Unlike most laptops on this list, the Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED is not meant for gamers. But rather creative professionals that need power when creating. The ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED has two tricks up its sleeve. The first is the ProArt dial which can boost productivity by integrating with apps such as Adobe’s Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom Classic. The second is its touchpad. It comes not with just 2 buttons, but 3. The 3rd button is designed for 3D designers for special application control. The touchpad as well doubles as a stylus pad where you can use it as if it were a drawing tablet as it supports 1024 pressure levels.

When it comes to performance, it sure isn’t a slouch either. With the RTX 3070 on the top end and either AMD Ryzen 5000 series or Intel Core i9 processors available.  However, if you want even higher-end specs, then there is also the Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 which comes with Intel’s Xeon processors and NVIDIA’s RTX A3000 or A5000 which are both meant for mobile workstations. The Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 can range from Php 164,995 to Php 174,995 depending on your configuration. However, the Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 will be sure to put a dent in your bank account as it comes in at Php 249,995 and up to Php 389,995.
