Not too long ago, AMD announced its plan to enter the SSD market. Today, the chip maker has officially debuted the Radeon R7 SSD which comes in three storage capacities with the lowest one only having a USD100 price tag.
The three new SSDs under the Radeon R7 lineup is designed and manufactured by OCZ which is owned by Toshiba. All of these drives use Barefoot 3 M00 controller, similar to one found on the Vertex 150, which give it slight performance advantage over the cheaper ARC 100 which uses M10 controller.
The new Radeon R7 SSD comes in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities and are priced at $100, $164 and $299 respectively.
