Do you believe in the Engkanto?

I would not have believed it myself but I guess I just caught one of them thru the lens of my camera.

Engkanto

Photos were taken during our week-end trip to Mt. Siniloan in Famy. This one was from Batya-batya Falls just a few hundred meters from Buruwisan where we camped.

Engkanto

I zoomed in on the photo and noticed that it had an uncanny resemblance to a very small human with some sort of wings fluttering from its back, though it brightly shined as if it had a white silhouette.

Here’s the gallery of pictures I took during the trip 15.

  1. ngek, kakatakot naman iyang picture…

  2. I don’t believe in engkanto. The thing on the picture is I think somethin that glitters. Or maybe the other part of the falls. :)

  3. I myself was a bit shocked when I saw this. We didn’t notice anything at that time. It was actually raining and the falls was covered with huge trees and the rocky mountains on both sides so it’s almost impossible that it was a reflection from the sun. Likewise, I did not turn my camera’s flash since this is a wide shot. As far as I can remember, there are no other sources of light around there nor any other person taking pictures.

  4. waaa! freaky!!! *shivers*

  5. hmmmm…
    freaky
maybe you could ask some experts on digital photography?
    hehe
    ;)

  6. Yuga, its nice of you to write an entry about Famy. I have been to Famy quite a number of times while I was still in UP and I have not thought about camping for awhile now. Its nice to see that it probably has not changed alot, but I heard that there are people selling ice and softdrinks close to camp?!? Can you please tell me more about the changes?

  7. Hi sepikmom!

I went there last year as well and quite a bit has changed since then. There are around 4 or 5 stations where small cottages are built for trekkers to rest esp. if it rains. Some of the stations have stands for food or drinks ranging from softdrinks to iced water to fresh buko.

The camp site is full as always but the villagers who lived there were helpful in cooking the canned foods that we brought (for a low service fee). There were some campers too that brought ropes and gears with them for rapelling on Sunday mornings. That part was fun!

During our stay, there were a platoon of boy scouts running around for their orienteering.

All the rest looks the same to me. :)

  8. I’m re posting some of my previous comments since I had to restore back my site from an old backup. My DB got screwed up.

  9. engkanto

Magnified to 600%. Image height is about 2.5 – 3 ft. based on the ratio of sizes of the people in the picture.

I used a Canon Digital Ixus 30 on normal mode. T’was about 3 or 4PM and was raining a bit.

  10. Hmm honestly my personal view base sa nakita on the net it looks real… but we all knows image can be change or doctored artistically once scanned for website… sayang you are using digital cam that time…
Alam mo kung gumamit ka lang ng normal camera with 135photofilm then we can ask the experts to examine the negatives. Then you can claim na totoo talaga ito.

    thynks.

  17. add nyo me sa friendster nyo kac naniniwala me sa engkanto

Hindi talaga ako naniniwala sa ganung bagay until my cousin told me that she saw’s the same creature mismo sa bahay nila.

  19. i believe coz iv seen it…..

Is it a girl or a boy ang sumusunod sa ‘yo? Baka girl.,mmmmmmmm, if so, baka syota mo ‘yon……..(joke! )tell me ano ang image nya.thanks…

  22. Yo ! average persons do not believe such kind of beings , its either they are not informed or they are not intuned to their dimension, i can make such kind of picture in MS Paint or adobe but the thing is this pic is real and that thing exist…on this pic the “shape-shifter” is disturbed thats why the thing purposely showed up, if nobody got sick on these guys after this pic it means the thing admired to someone and becomes playful…if you are a religious fanatic you may think this is some kind of apparition…

    open up your minds…

    -end-

  26. “what you see is what you believe” sabi nga nila…….

i would believe it myself if i have seen one. but for this case, siguro nga totoo. but i do believe there are engkantos or dwendes… i was about 5 years old when i heard someone calling my name… it was a girl’s voice and her voice was so tiny.. hehe it’s like she wants to play with me. but i couldn’t find her… i looked everywhere but i never found the girl with a really tiny voice.

  27. when i was a grade 1 in the rest room
i see a girl crying in the cr.
    but i can”t see

  28. nong! naniwala ako sa engkanto
    dahil tinawag niya ako
    at sumitsit sa akin!!!!!………….

  36. OMG I HAVE THE SAME REAL STORY ABOUT ?#?Elemento? o TAMBAL!
This creepy story happened to my step-uncle back in the province. To this day, pagnaalala ko ang kwento na ‘to, kinikilabutan ako. So hinanap nila ngayon yung katawan sa gubat. SCARYYYYYY!!!

Weird lang ngayon may movie na about this: https://www.facebook.com/vivaportal/videos/1015338*****81128/
meaning nangyari din pala sa ibang tao.
