One of the things that got some people going for iOS devices are the apps and one of the apps that people are flocking to is Instagram. After a long wait, Android users no need to envy further as the beloved photo sharing app is now available in the Google Play Store.

If you’ve been living under a rock, Instagram is a photo sharing app that lets you capture images, apply cool effects then share it with other Instagram users. You can also view images uploaded by your followed friends, giving you a chance to like it or post a comment.

It was rumored that the Android version will be better than its iOS counterpart so I did a quick comparison.
Turns out, the Android version is missing a feature that its iOS brother has and that is the selective focus tool. With the filters, I managed to spot a difference and that is the X-Pro. Android has “X-Pro†while the iOS version has “X-Pro II.â€

The Instagram app for Android has been made available on April 3, 2012 and at the time of writing, already been rated by 8,000 users.
It’s in version 1.0.0 and requires Android version 2.2 and up. Searching the word “Instagram†on the Play Store won’t quickly show you the app so to make it easier you can download it through this Play Store link.
Note: Android phone used is the Sony Xperia S.

this is why I sold my iphone and got an android.. i felt that apple is on a downfall na.. remember when Steve was fired by apple? they didnt know what to do and almost got bankrupt.. the wheel is turning and right now apple is almost on the bottom. after steve passed away they released iphone 4s and the new ipad.. and nothing groundbreaking. the new ipad is thicker??? the iphone 4s is almost the same as the old iphone 4.. lets face it apple need steve jobs. that is why these apps that were used to be iphone exclusives are venturing to the android territory because they know that they cant just survive with apple’s app store alone.
im glad i switch last september pa… glad that i left the apple ecosystem. android is much better and more self sufficient and can thrive to abrupt changes.
Yup, its going pre-extinct.
It is already, actually.
Can you tell me that apple is at downfall if you check out the stocks of apple its actually increasing after the news of STEVE JOBS and FYI They have not stopped innovating and saying that “they cant just survive at apple’s app store” WRONG!!! Think Android is spreading out their APK’s ( Android Developer Kits) and updated it with a more unviersal coding….and WTF!!!! ” apple is almost at the bottom” not only did increase in the top 10 but their stocks increased when steve jobs died and not only that apple has more money than the US MINT and not only that apple used its power to help the work force over in china, foxconn to increase salary and FYI the factory has nice facilities….CHECK YOUR DAMN research befor posting a comment and BTW I also have androids ranging from the 3 android operationg systems (ISC, HONEYCOMB, Gingerbread)
