This year’s Mobile World Congress is said to be a momentous event for ST-Ericsson, the company behind the NovaThor chipset, as they are said to announce their first ever quad-core processor which is believed to clock in at blazing fast 3-gigahertz. In recent times, however, the company has been making short but significant strides to improve their portfolio which is evident on the recent release of the 2.5GHz dual-core processor earlier this year. Dubbed as the NovaThor eQuad, ST-Ericsson’s upcoming SoC consists of four 28-nanometer Cortex—A9 cores which are put together using FD-SOI MOSFET (Fully Dispersed Silicon on Insulator, Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) technology, enabling to not only be fast but also power efficient. Intel has announced its new Core Ultra 200S Plus series desktop processors, which include the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. The company said the new processors offer improved gaming and multitasking performance compared to earlier models in the Core Ultra lineup. Intel said the processors will start at $299 for the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and $199 for the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus.
