Sky Broadband is set to launch a new offering for their internet service -- a special broadband plan of (up to) 5Mbps at only Php999 a month with a 15GB cap. Telco insiders are saying that around 80% of broadband users don't really consume more than 15GB of traffic a month, then this alternative plan is for them. If 15GB is not enough for you, Sky Broadband also offers another tiered plan -- 5Mbps at Php1,999 with 35GB cap. Cignal Satellite Broadband now offers prepaid plans for those who want to avail of satellite internet on a budget. The download speed for this is 15Mbps, and the upload speed is 1Mbps. Yes, you read it right -- Sky Broadband is offering up to 112Mbps residential cable internet. Sky Broadband reps tell me the theoretical speed is 112Mbps down and 5Mbps up. Sun Cellular Wireless Broadband has upgraded its network to 3.5G (HSDPA) and dropped its unlimited monthly subscription fees to Sun subscribers.
