Acer has made official their new Android and SnapDragon smartphone called Acer Stream. This is probably the 5th Android smartphone from Acer but the first one having a 1GHz SnapDragon processor. Although the Acer Stream's AMOLED display is at 3.7 inches, it's a little thinner than the Google Nexus One at 11.2mm but heavier at 140 grams. The Stream will have Android 2.1 pre-installed and is readily upgradeable to Froyo. Acer also added its own Touch 3D UI v4.0 on top of the OS layer. The Acer Timeline notebook boasts of up to 8 hours battery life and sports a nice slim design (slimmer than most netbooks). Most of the Acer notebooks I've seen around are ugly and bulky but the Acer Timeline series changed that impression. The 13.3" Acer Timeline costs more at around Php45,000 while the 14" has a retail price of Php39,990.
