Canon has announced to bring in the PowerShot PICK— an automated camera, to the Philippines. The Canon PowerShot PICK is a pocket-sized, hands-free automated camera. The PowerShot PICK uses a 1/2.3-inch 11.7MP CMOS image sensor. According to Canon, the PowerShot PICK combines Canon's optical, video processing, and artificial intelligence technology. Users may also connect the PowerShot PICK to their smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using the “Connect app for Mini PTZ Cam” app. Canon may be preparing to enter the pocket gimbal camera segment, based on a newly published patent that outlines a compact, stabilized handheld device aimed at content creators. Canon has reportedly filed multiple patents related to gimbal cameras over the past few years, with designs gradually shifting from experimental concepts to more practical, consumer-ready ideas. Canon’s potential entry could bring its imaging expertise and color science into a space currently led by action camera and drone-focused companies.
