Aside from the Flare J1 mini and S4 mini, key hardware configurations for the Flare XL 2 and Flare XL Plus had also been revealed as part of this year's Cherry Mobile Festival 2016. Both devices sport a larger display, 5.5-inch for the Flare XL Plus and 6-inch for the Flare XL 2. The Flare XL Plus will have the Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box while the Flare XL Plus will be one of the first local smartphones to have the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-loaded into the phone. During the latter part of September, Cherry Mobile has launched the Flare 2.0 which is part of the second wave of handsets under the local company’s portfolio. Much like its predecessor, there’s nothing really spectacular about the Flare 2.0’s physical attributes. Display The Flare 2.0 is equipped with the same 4-inch WVGA display of its predecessor. However, if you’re not too particular about those little enhancements usually found on a pricier phone, then we think that you should be able to tolerate the Flare 2.0’s shortcoming in the display category. Unfortunately, the all-too-good user experience was ruined by the square icons that somewhat made the Flare 2.0 look like a toy rather than a decent smartphone.
