Google Meet extends its unlimited Meet calls to free plans. The platform announced that it will extend its services for unlimited Meet calls to those with Gmail accounts for free until March 31, 2021. With the extension of the unlimited Meet calls, users may communicate with their friends and family for up to 24 hours per call and enjoy new features on the video conferencing platform. This includes casting calls to your smart TV, joining hands-free on your Nest Hub Max, built-in background blur, 49-people tile view, and a virtual whiteboard for collaborations that Gmail account users may enjoy. Smart Communications, the mobile arm of PLDT, has rolled out a new feature that lets its users make video calls directly from their phones without the need for apps like Messenger, Zoom, or WhatsApp. The new service uses Video over LTE (ViLTE) technology, which works almost the same as making a regular voice call. If you’re a Smart or TNT subscriber with an unlimited call package, you can now place high-quality video calls and the cost will already be covered by your voice subscription. While many Filipinos already rely on popular apps for video calls, Smart said that ViLTE provides a better and more stable experience.
