Samsung is preparing its next major software release, One UI 8.5, and dozens of Galaxy devices are already confirmed to be included in the update rollout for 2026. It is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year, followed by a gradual release to older flagships, foldables, tablets, and midrange Galaxy models. While exact measurements weren’t shared, the device is expected to be thinner than last year’s Z Fold6 (5.6mm unfolded) and even slimmer than the Z Fold Special Edition, which came in at 4.9mm. Up until now, leaks had only pointed to three foldable models this year: the Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, and the Z Fold7. Samsung hasn't officially confirmed if the Ultra is a separate model or just a rebranding of the standard Fold7, but language used in the teaser and a recent Samsung email points to a possible new Ultra form factor.
