Samsung teases upcoming Galaxy Z ‘Ultra’ foldable

Listen to article

Samsung has dropped a new teaser hinting at what could be its first ‘Ultra’ model in the Galaxy Z Fold series.

The teaser, shared on Samsung’s official channels, mentions an “Ultra experience” and shows a slim foldable profile, likely referring to the Fold7 Ultra. While exact measurements weren’t shared, the device is expected to be thinner than last year’s Z Fold6 (5.6mm unfolded) and even slimmer than the Z Fold Special Edition, which came in at 4.9mm.

Up until now, leaks had only pointed to three foldable models this year: the Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, and the Z Fold7. There was no solid information on an Ultra variant, which makes this teaser the first real clue.

Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed if the Ultra is a separate model or just a rebranding of the standard Fold7, but language used in the teaser and a recent Samsung email points to a possible new Ultra form factor.

This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung teased an advanced Fold model. Last year, an Ultra was rumored for the Z Fold6 generation but never launched. Instead, Samsung quietly introduced the Z Fold Special Edition (also known as the Samsung W25 in China), which featured an 8-inch main display, 6.5-inch cover screen, 200MP main camera, and 16GB of RAM — all in a thinner and lighter body.

In related leaks, the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 are expected to come in three color options and offer at least two storage variants. While Samsung has yet to announce an official launch date, multiple sources suggest Samsung will hold an in-person Unpacked event sometime in early July.
