In an advisory, GCash announced that they will now send messages directly to app inbox for received money notifications. This is part of GCash's efforts to enhance the security of their users' transactions. By sending notifications directly to the app inbox, GCash ensures that users receive their transaction updates in a secure, reliable manner. This also eliminates the need for users to worry about the possibility of receiving fake SMS messages purporting to be from GCash. GCash announced today their partnership with Facebook to bring the famous virtual wallet into Messenger. GCash started back in 2004 as Globe's mobile money wallet and has since grown to be one of the most used money transfer and payment portal in the Philippines. Cross-platform sending (PayMaya to GCash and vice versa) would be available soon but for now, only GCash members can send and receive money from each other. GCash recommends its user to be fully KYC'd (Know Your Customer) as per Banko Sentral's rule to be able to fully utilize their services.
