GCash has issued an urgent cybersecurity advisory after detecting a rise in scams involving fake National ID (PhilSys) verification and fraudulent eGovPH-related mobile applications. GCash is strengthening its efforts against task scams and other forms of social engineering fraud as digital scam syndicates become increasingly sophisticated across the country. Since 2025, GCash reported closing over 3.3 million scam-linked wallets as part of its fraud monitoring and proactive wallet blocking efforts.
