Google has recently launched Hold For Me feature on its Phone app which lets Google Assistant wait on the line for the user. Hold for Me is Google’s latest effort to make phone calls better and save you time. Previewed on the Google Pixel 4a and Google Pixel 5, the new feature allows users to go back to their day while being held in line. Google Assistant will notify you with sound, vibration, and a prompt on your screen once someone is on the line and ready to talk. Hold for Me is powered by Google’s Duplex technology which allows the app to understand the difference between a recorded message and a representative on the line. It also protects one's privacy as no audio from the call will be shared with Google or saved to any Google account unless the user explicitly decides to share it to help improve the feature. The Hold for Me feature is currently available to Google’s latest Pixel devices. Depending on your preference as a smartphone user, pre-installed Google apps on your device are either helpful (because you don’t have to download/install it yourself) or annoying (because you don’t use any of it).
