Since I updated my iPod Touch 2G to iOS4 several weeks back, I haven't really used it very often. Then this morning, I woke up and saw that the iPod Touch had its battery almost drained. In less than 10 hours, the iPod Touch went from 100% to 10% battery life and all I did was play a 30-minute podcast. Apple has recently shuffled three devices onto its vintage and obsolete products list: a sixth-generation iPod touch, a 2015 21.5-inch iMac, and the iPhone 5S. Joining the 5S in the dustbin are the iPod touch (6th generation) and the late 2015 edition of the 21.5-inch iMac with a Retina 4K display. The sixth-generation iPod touch, released in 2015, was the second-to-last model in the once-ubiquitous music player line. Apple officially discontinued the iPod touch line entirely in 2022, marking the end of an era for portable MP3 players.
