LeEco, a China-based company brought out their newest flagship handset dubbed as the Le Max 2. Smart is finally out with its WiMax service and posters have been spotted about the new SmartBro WiMax subscription plans. I think we're a bit fortunate to have 3 competing WiMax providers in the Philippines -- there's Globe, Smart and Liberty Telecoms. But just like the existing 3G networks that have been rolled out for years, WiMax is also dependent on location. Here's another 3G broadband router sent in for review -- the Edimax 802.11b/g 3G Router. A couple of days ago, I attended a WiMax forum hosted by Intel Philippines. They are helping push the use of WiMax in emerging markets where there are very low but fast growing PC users. As one Intel executive puts it -- "there's no such thing as demand for WiMax, just demand for broadband connectivity".
