MMDA will start to restrict provincial buses traveling in EDSA in mid-July to prevent massive traffic that would occur due to the road projects currently in construction this month. Provincial buses will not be barred from traveling in EDSA completely as they will only be restricted on a specific weekly timeslot. Starting on July 15, 2018, Northbound and Southbound provincial buses cannot traverse Cubao to Pasay sections of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) from 5:00 am to 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on weekdays. (Monday to Friday) With that said, MMDA chair Danilo Lim said this would reduce the number of buses running EDSA routes to 2,000. They can use the MMDA-operated Southwest Interim Provincial Terminal which is located in Pasay. Violators would be fined Php2,000 if they are caught in EDSA during the ban. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is looking at alternatives to the current concrete barriers that they have placed along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) which is being used as a safety for motorists.
